Colombia. Promoting the audiovisual ecosystem that is developed in Medellín was the objective of the Audiovisual Market, an event held by ELPAUER and Meca, highlighting the joint work offered by local companies.
María Cecilia Cardona, head of ELPAUER de Comfama, spoke to TVyVideo+Radio about this meeting. He stressed that it arose from a conversation with the MECA companies, which had been expressing the need to show all the capacity that Medellín and Antioquia have at this time, so that they could see all the possibilities to tell stories, to strengthen their brands, to take advantage of the talent that exists around visual effects, virtual reality and that was what inspired them.
In the first version of the Audiovisual Market, 28 companies participated, showing all the phases of production, pre, production, post-production, the whole topic of animation is also covered. These companies are now accompanying them from ELPAUER in improving their competitiveness and connecting them with the market.
"Today at Comfama and at ELPAUER we are super focused on supporting business growth and development, the whole issue of competitiveness and productivity of these companies. For us it is transcendental and a way to contribute to that process to facilitate the connection with markets and that implies this type of events that we experience here," said María Cecilia Cardona.
He explained that ELPAUER is a business development platform that focuses on capacity building, which has to do with all the closing of knowledge gaps in business model issues, good industry practices, financial and legal issues, everything that is related to business development.
Another line is the line of connection with markets, which facilitates this strategic relationship between audiovisual and music companies with their potential customers, their possible allies. And the last line is the community that allows all these audiovisual and music companies to relate to their stakeholders. The idea of this process is precisely to contribute to the competitiveness of audiovisual music companies.
For her part, Ana Ligia Jaramillo, director of the Association of Audiovisual and Cinematographic Companies of Medellín and Antioquia, Meca, told TVyVideo+Radio "What we wanted, hand in hand with ELPAUER, was to connect companies with all the talent we have here. We think of an objective and that is to make a pitch and networking, and what more than make it immersive and experiential and hand in hand with the creators. The most beautiful and the most important thing is, we are in an era of content, but you have to do different things to be able to connect."
The Director of Meca concluded that "We want to develop the audiovisual and cinematographic ecosystem of Medellín de Antioquia, so that there are more and more opportunities for all companies here. Here there was that relationship of knowing the entire audiovisual production part. And screenings are a moment of recognition and to show what that talent is, those great productions that are touring the world".
