International. News agency ENEX, a long-standing LiveU customer, has expanded the use of its cloud-native IP Matrix video distribution platform with the addition of an ad hoc channel for broadcasting major global news events.
This channel was first used to expand the distribution of live coverage of the 2025 Papal Conclave. ENEX, which traditionally uses LiveU Matrix to deliver regular live broadcasts, through three fixed channels to its alliance of more than 50 global business news members, was looking to expand its distribution capacity for this important global news broadcast.
LiveU Matrix's ad hoc expansion can be deployed at any time, providing ENEX and its members with a fast and flexible content-sharing solution, which can be used when needed to meet the growing demand for more cost-effective and dynamic live news content.
The Papal Conclave, which took place from May 7 to 8, was watched by millions of viewers around the world in several languages. ENEX members were able to access the broadcasts over the weekend as the cardinals completed the electoral process, which culminated in the famous white smoke signal from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel.
LiveU Matrix enables high-quality, low-latency live streams to be shared, received, and recorded in the cloud, accessible directly from a browser without the need for expensive satellite or fiber-optic infrastructure. LiveU Matrix's expansion follows the recent renewal of ENEX's two-year contract with LiveU for the third time.
Adrian Wells, Managing Director of ENEX, said: "LiveU is a leader in the live streaming market. Most of our media partners have decided to use LiveU's technology as part of their newsgathering capability. It is entirely logical that ENEX would collaborate with LiveU to leverage their solutions through the Matrix transmission network." LiveU continues to be a high-value and trusted technology partner.
