AI, the "Co-pilot" Transforming Broadcasting, According to Avid

Héctor Sánchez y Craig Wilson, avid

Latin America. According to Avid's vision, Artificial Intelligence has the potential to significantly impact the broadcast industry, boosting efficiency and freeing up time for creativity. TVyVideo+Radio spoke with Héctor Sánchez and Craig Wilson, who detailed Avid's vision with AI.

They noted that Avid envisions AI as a "co-pilot" for journalists, editors and producers. Its focus is on the responsible use of AI, leveraging its advances to assist professionals in their creative work. They stress that the final decision should always lie with the operator, guaranteeing trust and journalistic integrity.

And in practice, Avid has developed Ada, a framework of AI technologies that is integrated into its portfolio of products, including Media Composer, ProTools and MediaCentral. These solutions run locally, without the need for an internet connection, ensuring content security and protecting your customers' intellectual property.

In addition to its own solutions, Avid is open to collaborating with partners to offer other AI services. The company already integrates MediaCentral with Microsoft Azure and AWS for some of its AI services, and collaborates with other technology providers.

According to Avid experts, the interest of Latin American television channels and production companies in AI is comparable to that of other regions of the world. Latin American customers are looking for the tangible benefits that these technologies offer, especially when it comes to efficiency and creativity.

Héctor Sánchez and Craig Wilson highlighted that customers in Latin America are as interested in the use of AI technologies as in other regions of the world. "When it comes to driving efficiency and fostering creativity, something we know our clients in Latin America are known for delivering high-quality programs to their audience across all their platforms, it's no surprise that clients in the region want to take advantage of these emerging technologies."

Finally, they commented that continued growth is expected in the Latin American market, with customers looking for solutions to improve efficiency, remove obstacles and focus on the creation of high-quality content for multiple platforms.
