DTS AutoStage Reached 10 Million Vehicles Globally

DTS AutoStage llegó a 10 millones de vehículos a nivel global

Latin America. DTS, a subsidiary of Xperi, achieved a major milestone for its DTS AutoStage platform: now integrated into more than 10 million cars in 146 countries, including more than 6 million vehicles in North America using both DTS AutoStage and HD Radio.

DTS AutoStage is a global entertainment platform for the connected car, seamlessly combining linear streaming with IP-delivered content in a unified way, focused on the user experience. From audio to video, DTS AutoStage makes it easy for consumers to discover and interact with the full range of their entertainment preferences, all on one in-car display for the owners, drivers and passengers of today and tomorrow.

A recent DTS consumer survey highlighted that private vehicle ownership is here to stay and that owners, especially Gen Z and luxury car owners, see it as an important third space, whether they choose to be alone, relax or de-stress, listen to music or watch videos when the car is parked.

Greater comfort and customization, as well as having several options in your vehicle's infotainment system such as your TV or mobile device, are part of the features that respondents agreed would make your vehicle a better third space.

"The growing adoption of DTS AutoStage is not surprising given the evolution of the car as more than just a means of transportation for owners," continued Jury.

"As the battle for the dashboard between big tech and automakers continues, our data provides strong evidence that today's car buyers are looking for the kind of next-generation entertainment in their vehicles that DTS AutoStage offers, while also giving manufacturers the opportunity to own the customer experience. access to interactive data and offer a personalized infotainment system."

The growing adoption of Xperi's connected car technologies is evident in the continued growth of HD Radio™, the North American standard for digital radio, which recently marked a milestone in its implementation in more than 110 million vehicles, bringing it closer to 60% of new cars sold annually across North America.

Built on DTS AutoStage, the TiVo™ platform's DTS AutoStage Video Service is the ultimate in-car video entertainment experience. The video platform offers a personalized experience focused on connected car content, delivering premium content through live TV, news, sports, movies and more on the car's screen. DTS AutoStage Video Service powered by TiVo was initially launched with BMW in 2023 and will be available on cars from a Japanese automaker from 2026.

The automobile has evolved from being a simple means of transportation to becoming an entertainment area that does not require sitting on the sofa and in which consumers are looking for more than just a screen and a radio. In the same survey mentioned above, audio consumption remained a consistent preference: 88% of respondents indicated that they listen to audio while driving. In addition, video consumption has grown significantly, from 31% in 2022 to 47% in 2024, showing an upward trend in both passengers and drivers interacting with visual media while in the car.

DTS AutoStage Video Service powered by TiVo is focused on providing an intuitive, personalized viewing experience that enables the transition between home and in-vehicle experience, seamlessly continuing users' entertainment journey.

By offering highly relevant content recommendations as well as advertising, Xperi and DTS are changing the standards of a common entertainment experience.
