Argentina. In 1997 Gustavo Pesci founded the company Hardata with a clear vision, to develop innovative solutions for audio and video automation, focused on the broadcast industry. Currently, it is headquartered in Buenos Aires, but its products are used in more than 30 countries in Latin America, the United States, Europe and Asia.
In conversation with TVyVideo+Radio, he stressed that "Since our inception, we have been dedicated to creating products that optimize and transform the operation of radio stations and television networks."
Its most notable products include Dinesat, a robust and reliable software for radio automation, and HDX Radio. In addition, they have expanded the portfolio to include playout video servers.
In Argentina there are a significant number of companies that develop technology for the broadcast industry and that have managed to position themselves in the international market. When analyzing this panorama, Gustavo Pesci stressed that:
"Argentine companies have managed to stand out in the global market thanks to their capacity for innovation and adaptability. Argentine technology is distinguished by its focus on practical functionality, efficiency, and cost-benefit ratio. In addition, we have highly trained human talent, with strong technical training and a commitment to excellence that is reflected in each product we develop."
He recalled that technological development in Argentina has been largely driven by private initiatives, although there are some government programs that seek to support innovation and development in the technology sector. "However, the main impetus comes from the private sector, where companies like Hardata lead the innovation and development of competitive solutions in the global market. The ability to adapt to a challenging economic and political environment has been key to our continued success."
And about the economy in the country, he stressed that it has always been a challenge, "but at Hardata we have learned to be resilient and to adapt quickly to changing circumstances. So far, the economic measures implemented by the new government have had a mixed impact. While some policies have provided relief in certain areas, such as reducing taxes for exporters, other aspects of the economy remain challenging."
He concluded that "2024 has been a year of recovery and adaptation for the broadcast industry in Argentina and Latin America. At Hardata, we anticipate a positive year-end, with an increase in sales of our products and greater adoption of our solutions in key markets."
