Panasonic Releases New Kairos Software Version 1.6

Panasonic

Latin America. Panasonic introduced a new version of its Kairos 1.6 software, which enables features such as user rights management, stream recording, and improved color correction.

Additionally, it launched the optional AT-KC20M1 SDI I/O board, which increases the number of SDI inputs/outputs to a maximum of 48 connectors.

In addition to IP sources, Kairos can now input and generate a large number of images via SDI without the need for an external converter, allowing for more flexible video production according to the customer's application and operating environment.

The AT-KC20M1 SDI I/O board is compatible with the Kairos Core 200/2000 mainframe (AT-KC200/2000/2000s1) and requires software version 1.6. There are 12 Micro-BNC SDI connectors (8 inputs and 4 outputs) per board, and up to 4 can be installed on the rear panel of the mainframe.

The software update to version 1.6 allows a color correction function with new parameters that make it easier to use. The new user management feature protects set-up settings, while preventing production errors by setting the access range for specific Kairos users.

Other features include a built-in clip player that supports recording, saving, and playback of SRT/RTP/RTMP input/output and RTSP input. With the advantage of being software-based, the Kairos IT/IP platform will continue to provide customers with greater flexibility and reliability as the system evolves.

Kairos Core Manager AT-SFCM10's optional software will support backing up production files, synchronizing clips and other media, and data will be relocated between multiple Core Kairos drives. The software will be free for use with two or fewer Kairos Core units. If a Kairos core fails, it can easily be replaced with another Kairos core as a backup. In addition to network redundancy, which is already supported, Kairos Core backup can also be guaranteed, making video production with Kairos even more secure.

Through the Kairos IT/IP platform, Panasonic provides unlimited video production to all customers involved in video production and distribution, especially those focused on the broadcast industry, as well as sports and events.

Transition to IP solutions in Latam
"Panasonic is committed to the transition to IP solutions, recognising the importance of this evolution in the TV production market. Kairos is a striking example of this approach, which is a fully IP-based solution," said Rodrigo Costa, Sales Manager at Panasonic do Brasil, responsible for the Japanese brand's operations in Latin America.

The executive highlights that flexibility and innovation are fundamental attributes in Panasonic's vision: "It reflects the market trend, anticipating the move to the IP environment in all TV editions. The transition is essential to provide flexibility, robustness, reliability and innovation in all aspects of television production."

When it came to defining the brand's strategy for Latin America, he did not hesitate to state: "It involves continuing the investment plan, making products affordable and offering opportunities for local companies to test and learn about solutions more deeply. The company is committed to being present in the region, actively demonstrating its solutions and providing resources for testing and demonstrations," while concluding: "This approach aims to contribute to the development of the market in the region, facilitating access to Panasonic solutions and strengthening the relationship with local companies. The availability of local production and manifestations is an integral part of this strategy, with the aim of supporting the growth and adoption of the innovations offered by Panasonic in the region."
