International. Last September a streaming milestone was held, for the first time an NFL game was broadcast exclusively by this format, on Amazon's platform, Prime Video.
A match between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers was the game in charge of kicking off the exclusive broadcast on Thursday, September 15 on Amazon Prime Video.
This exclusivity currently includes 10 matches on Thursday nights and one on Christmas. Issue that opens the debate against whether the NFL will receive a tempting offer for the super Bowl broadcast rights.
Background
In 2020, Amazon negotiated with the National Football League (NFL) the (non-exclusive) rights to broadcast Thursday night games for $75 million. By 2021 the platform offered 1 billion for the same matches, but exclusively.
