Argentina. From September 2 to 10, the first edition of the International Film Festival of the Province of Buenos Aires took place in La Plata, a space for audiovisual exhibition with a strong objective of promoting existing festivals and with the focus on Buenos Aires identity and diversity.
At the awards gala, which took place on Saturday 9 at the Teatro Argentino de La Plata, and on the occasion of commemorating the 40 years of Democracy, the Cultural Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires gave special recognition to INCAA for the work and trajectory that the institution has in the national territory, worldwide and in Buenos Aires in particular.
"This initiative of the provincial State motivated the need to value its contribution and work in the construction of a federal cinema, for being the agency that allowed the resurgence of national cinema through policies of support and promotion of filmmakers," said Pablo Torello, the director of Audiovisual Policies of the Cultural Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires.
The recognition, delivered by the Undersecretary of Cultural Policies of the Province of Buenos Aires, Victoria Onetto, was received by the Deputy Manager of Exhibition of INCAA, Camila Rocha, who thanked the mention on behalf of the president of the Institute, its workers and, above all, the national cinema, which is positioned year after year as a thriving industry around the world. demonstrating that national talents in audiovisual matters are the main guarantors of cultural sovereignty, and that the existence of INCAA legitimizes the defense of citizens' access to cultural plurality and diversity.
