Colombia. The company Broadcast Depot held a roadshow in three different cities of Colombia to present the latest news of some of the brands it represents, visiting Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena.
Juan Manuel Aguiló, from Broadcast Depot, spoke with TVyVideo+Radio at one of its events in Colombia. He stressed that these days are not new in the country, every year they carry out these roadshow so that customers can see, feel and try the equipment.
The manufacturers that participated in these events in Colombia were Telos Alliance, with all its product lines, such as Omnia, Axia, Infinity, Linear Acoustic; Tieline, with its technology for remote audio transmissions; Digigram and RME microphone pre-applifiers; LiveU with the LiveU 800 and the new LiveU Studio, which they are also promoting for radios; and the Chimera virtual set system, which uses the Unreal Engine platform.
On the balance of this day in Colombia, Juan Manuel Aguiló said that "we have a positive balance, many people have come to see the shows. We had a very different way of presenting it, a little atypical, we didn't want to have people sitting listening to talks, rather we wanted to have people on the move, to go to each of the stations, to test the equipment, to be able to see the equipment interconnected with each other, and that's what has made this show a success. Our local distributors have been there."
He added that this is a crucial moment for Colombia, with the movement of community radios, so they took the opportunity to bring technologies related to them. One of the visitors was even Asoredes, an association of 66 community radio stations in Antioquia, which seeks to help broadcasters in their implementation of technology, among other issues.
Finally, the representative of Broadcast Depot indicated that this year the Colombian market has contracted a little, for political-economic reasons and the variation of the peso with respect to the dollar.
"But we see that he is recovering. We see that they are returning to have purchase intentions over the last two months. Certain things have been moving. But I see it well, I see it growing and I hope it does. After a contraction that has come after a time of pandemic, we see that it is taking off little by little, but it is taking off and it is moving quite a bit," he concluded.
