Chile. The broadcast market for the Chilean company Videocorp, closed in 2022 with growth and good projections for 2023. This was highlighted to TVyVideo + Radio Pedro Pablo González, Broadcast & UAVS sales manager of Videocorp for Chile and Colombia.
"We closed a great 2022 in both Chile and Colombia, this from the point of view of numbers and growth projection for 2023. From the point of view of the results we can say that compared to the years 2022 and 2021 and the pre-pandemic period, we have managed to maintain growth year after year. Internally, this has also meant a growth in internal collaborators in order to meet the expectations that each country has about us," he said.
He added that, in relation to the pandemic, they observed a sustained recovery, although in the field of independent, film and advertising production they observe a slower recovery and with actors that have unfortunately disappeared, which generates less competitiveness and less investment in that segment of the market.
On the trends, he stated that they observe a real transition to IP flows, remote production, non-satellite signal transport and virtualization of services that today require proprietary hardware.
Since 2022 the technology industry is facing shortages of equipment due to low availability from factories. In VideoCorp this situation "was a critical moment with up to 6 months of waiting for products. We know that customers were affected by this situation and that manufacturers were instrumental in the correct location of inventories in order to meet the obligations acquired. This year the specter of shortages is on its way out. However, historical moments such as the pandemic, make us rethink all business models and this includes the availability factor, which, although it is key, the industry has already learned to plan with certainty and that immediate availability is not the weight of the balance when investing in new projects".
Finally, Pedro Pablo indicated that they hope at NAB Show 2023 to find "a strong and growing industry, designed for the change that facilities must have for multiplatform production and with non-linear programming".
