LiveU will have larger deployment in Qatar

liveu

Latin America. LiveU is preparing for the biggest rollout with a record number of unit bookings covering the World Cup tournament in Qatar. Hundreds of LiveU 5G/4G field units have been reserved for live 4K/HD quality coverage of the tournament.

The stations plan to use LiveU's solution for stadium main broadcasts with official CRA (Communications Regulatory Authority) labels. LiveU's cloud-based services will also play a key role in production, in particular, the use of LiveU Matrix for the distribution of IP videos in live streams to global distributors.

The LiveU team will be there to help customers and participate in the technical aspects directly involved in the transmission of the games, using their innovative technology. LiveU will also broadcast from fan zones, allowing millions of sports fans around the world to participate.

The LiveU service center in downtown Doha will provide 24-hour support and rental units with unlimited data plans, along with LiveU's local partner, Resolution Hire. With a multinational support team, LiveU will provide local on-site support in multiple languages and at all sports competition venues.

Ronen Artman, VP of marketing at LiveU, said: "We have seen unprecedented demand for our solutions this year, particularly from football-loving nations in Latin America as well as other parts of the world. Our goal is to provide customers with the most reliable, highest quality, and flexible streaming solutions so they can deliver the best viewing experience to their viewers. Our customers will count on our solutions for their content 24/7. With fans eager to see every aspect of the games, LiveU technology will ensure they enjoy the best viewing experience possible."

Vívaro Video brings together television and telecommunications professionals with vast experience in services for television transmission in various countries, achieving global coverage in the delivery of their turnkey services and projects and has 15 clients covering the tournament in Qatar, 50% of which are holders of transmission rights from Latin America.

Rodrigo Peralta, CEO of TVTEL, Vivaro Video said: "We have seen an increase in the number of customers and LiveU units planned for Qatar compared to those used in the tournament four years ago. The scale of the event, location and press/fan restrictions presented some challenges for our production team, but we are confident that the reliability, quality and support LiveU provides will help us provide unique match coverage to spectators around the world."

Caracol Colombia distributes content for its information, sports and entertainment platforms, both on TV, radio and its own digital media. Caracol has a wide range of LiveU units, including the LU800 and LU300, and servers in Colombia and Qatar.

Juan Pablo Mariño, head of the Technical Room at Caracol TV, Colombia, said: "We spent three years planning the coverage and LiveU has been a part of it since day one. We deploy a technical team of 60 people in Qatar, including talents and technicians, we have 100 people working remotely from Colombia, in total more than 200 people will process the live content produced from Qatar. With LiveU we know that we have an important partner that supports us in everything and gives us the security to undertake challenging projects: we will have transmissions from 8 stadiums with LiveU units, remote production with LU800 and H.265. We only turn on the LU800 from any stadium and in seconds we have high-quality video in Colombia."
