Peru. Until Friday, November 18, the call is open for the 60 comprehensive scholarships of the University Extension Program (PEU) of the Supervisory Agency for Private Investment in Telecommunications, OSIPTEL, of Peru, which provides specialization in the field of telecommunications regulation and public management, and which is aimed at students and graduates of Law, Economics and Engineering.
To participate in the selection process of OSIPTEL scholarships, by the modality of admission exam, those interested only have to enter the https://beca.osiptel.gob.pe/ website and fill out the registration form with personal and academic information. It should be noted that university students who are not winners in the selection process for outstanding academic performance, a modality that OSIPTEL implemented for the first time this year to recognize the good performance of participants in their undergraduate studies, may participate by the admission exam modality in this same call.
What are the requirements?
Applicants must meet various requirements, such as being in the last year of their degree or being a recent graduate of Law, Economics, Economic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering and Computer Engineering; and dedicate themselves exclusively to the program while the classes are developing. Likewise, they must not have a consensual or enforceable conviction for an intentional crime, must not have impediments provided by the legal system for public servants and must not be registered in the National Registry of Sanctions against Civil Servants.
Benefits for those who obtain the scholarship include coverage of all academic costs (including materials), food expenses, local mobility and medical insurance. In the case of scholarship holders from regions, OSIPTEL will cover the costs of travel and accommodation in Lima. In addition, the first positions for each specialty of the program will have the opportunity to join the regulator through an agreement of pre-professional or professional practices.
Admission exam
The knowledge test for applicants of the admission exam modality, where 90% (54) of the total scholarships will be awarded, will be held on November 27 online nationwide.
On December 9, through https://beca.osiptel.gob.pe/, the final list of admitted fellows who will participate in the PEU OSIPTEL will be known. They will acquire technical and practical knowledge related to the organization, regulation and supervision of public telecommunications services during the ten weeks of the program and whose classes will take place in person in the city of Lima from January 16 to March 24, 2023.
