Latin America. The Spanish company AEQ announced that it began distributing its new Xpeak intercom system, which stands out because it supports up to 28 user terminals in different formats: desktop, rack, wired beltpack, wireless beltpack, and PC application, which can be connected to each other with the greatest operational flexibility and without the need for a matrix.
In addition, this connection is simple, even if the computers are in different locations, giving them access to a WAN, or simply to the internet. If a panel is configured to work remotely, when you turn it on, it will search and find the rest of the system panels within the network, being ready to work in a few seconds. This makes it easier to set up the coordination of remote productions.
Its wired user terminals have Bluetooth and USB connections, supporting all types of headphones and micro-headphones with those connectivity and facilitating connection with smartphones and PCs.
Stationary terminals have 8 keys. The pouches, 4 keys. The keys are arranged on two pages, which doubles the number of peers or groups of peers each panel can interact with.
Independently of the XPEAK system, these devices can work as user terminals in large systems with AEQ Conexia and Crossnet matrix. They can also be integrated into the simple Party-Line AEQ Easynet systems.
The system is complemented by the XPEAK_IF interface, which provides analog, digital USB, and AoIP AES67/Dante inputs and outputs to coordinate with camera operators through their CCU (Control Camera Unit) and receive and provide audio through PCs, sound consoles and other devices.
Some of its applications are television production studios, remote productions of television programs and broadcast of sporting and social events, mobile television units, theaters, live concerts, video game championships, industrial, security and military systems, transport ships, passengers and cruise ships, theme parks, casinos and bingos, sports centers ...
Other operational advantages:
• A Terminal can work in different locations and subscribe to different virtual networks, to participate in different remote productions.
• The system can be extended temporarily or permanently via cloud.
• It has the same operational flexibility as an AEQ matrix system working on a "peer to peer" basis, without matrix.
• Supports 4-channel Party-Line operation to minimize setup work.
• Stationary panels can be connected as is most convenient, with an IP switch or in "Daisy Chain".
• Users connected to a panel can be coordinated while receiving audio from the production they are developing.
• Bluetooth connection with a smartphone or audio connection with a walkie-talkie system will allow coordination outside the system with remote users.
And all this at a very surprising price, so that coordinating work both within a center, from several places at once, or producing events remotely, is affordable, flexible and easy to configure.
The company announced that Xpeak units available for the coming months are limited.
