Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, granted 339 radio and television authorizations, free of charge, to municipalities in 21 regions of Peru.
The Executive delivers this benefit to local governments located in localities considered as rural areas, border areas or of preferential social interest with the aim of promoting and facilitating the closing of communication gaps in those places.
Having the broadcasting service is extremely important, especially in those areas far from urban centers that do not have another type of communication service such as mobile telephony or the Internet.
Accessing this free authorization granted by the MTC allows municipalities to disseminate educational programming of interest to the population of their localities, such as, for example, Aprendo en Casa, news or local communiqués.
To apply for authorization, in order to provide the broadcasting service, the following steps must be followed:
First, the municipality must verify in the National Frequency Registry that there is availability of frequencies for the requested locality and band and that it is not in restriction.
Then, it must be checked that the locality for which the authorization is requested is qualified as a rural area, border area or of preferential social interest. This information can be verified in the following links:

Finally, they must submit the application together with the other requirements through the digital TUPA or in person, in accordance with the DGAT-20 procedure of the TUPA of the MTC.
