What is a development call?
Señal Colombia launches for the first time a development call for the design of a non-fiction television series. In a development call, the final product is the design of a television series, not the production of it. We understand the development stage as the most important in the production of a project for television. For those projects in which the channel has detected that the research and creative development of the content has a greater complexity, we want the projects to concentrate and limit themselves to the processes of creation, research, design and writing. This will allow us to have solid content, ready to be produced when necessary.
A call for development has the same characteristics of a production call: it is an open invitation of public selection that aims to choose proposals and suitable people for the creation and production of the projects we need; its result is a commissioned production contract in which Señal Colombia / RTVC provides all the economic resources for the realization of the proposal, and maintains editorial, narrative and production control of the project; Señal Colombia / RTVC retains all the economic and exploitation rights of the final product.
The Rules of Participation of each of the calls can be downloaded on the page www.rtvc.gov.co/contratacion/etapa-pre-contractual. In this link you will find all the information of calendars and procedures for the presentation of proposals. RTVC may make additions or modifications to the Rules of Participation. These will be published on the website of the entity www.rtvc.gov.co, and must be taken into account for the preparation of the proposals.
