Latin America. Telestream introduced Stanza, a new high-quality subtitle software product designed for businesses large and small alike. Stanza provides a low-cost entry point for organizations that require high-level captioning capabilities by offering a subscription-based OPEX business model.
Providing closed captioning and accurate captioning are critically important aspects in creating video content, as legal requirements in many regions of the world require this information to be available to hearing impaired viewers.
To help address the challenges of remote work, Stanza's client-server deployment model allows subtitle editors to work from any location from a simple browser-based editing console, regardless of where media files are stored. Stanza uses the powerful Telestream GLIM engine to play original high-resolution files instantly without the need to create or transfer proxy images.
"With Stanza, you don't need to download or move large media files over a local area network, or create proxies to work on subtitle projects," says Scott Matics, senior director of product management at Telestream. "And with its built-in access to automatic timed text speech transcription and integration with Vantage and Timed Text Flip transcoding and processing, Stanza represents a powerful new way to further automate the subtitle creation process."
With the ability to run on Windows, MacOS, and Linux, Stanza is platform-agnostic, allowing subtitle editors and agencies the ultimate in flexibility. Stanza includes optional access to the AI-powered timed text speech automatic transcription service that supports more than 100 languages. Stanza also integrates with the Vantage Timed Text Flip transcoder and word processor to provide automation for subtitle workflows.
Stanza is based on the Telestream Media Framework, the same technology that underpins several Telestream products and services, such as Vantage Media Processing Platform and Telestream Cloud Transform. Media Framework includes support for formats and containers developed from over twenty years of experience, having been tested in some of the most challenging streaming use cases around the world.
