Latin America. Dalet made major updates to Dalet AmberFin, the leader in image quality for transcoding. Achieving an important goal in Dalet's roadmap, the Dalet AmberFin version includes seamless integration with dalet Flex and Unified News platforms Dalet Pyramid.
New transcoding capabilities elevate the user experience, along with obtaining the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Foundational Technical Review, solidify Dalet AmberFin's excellence in the cloud, keeping it at the forefront of conversion innovation and leading content processing technology that preserves artistic intent.
"Dalet AmberFin powers streaming workflows, which are constantly evolving. As a critical technology for our customers, we focus on its continuous improvement and integration into a broad ecosystem," says Patrick Devlin, Chief Product Officer, Dalet AmberFin.
He added, "This launch integrates Dalet AmberFin's renowned content conversion and processing quality technology into our flagship SaaS solutions, Dalet Flex and Dalet Pyramid. As a critical pillar of these solutions, Dalet AmberFin bridges the gap for Dalet customers who need a fully cloud-based media ecosystem with comprehensive production and distribution workflows that can support any existing or emerging vertical market."
Excellence in the cloud
Recognizing the changing agility and flexibility needs of its customers, Dalet AmberFin offers a cloud-centric approach, verified by the AWS Foundational Technical Review process.
Comfort, agility and power
Dalet AmberFin's advanced ingestion and conversion capabilities, combined with the elastic resources of the cloud, enable enterprises to run large-scale projects cost-effectively. The recently updated Dalet AmberFin Kiosk, compatible with macOS and offering greater support for formats such as ProRes RAW and NEF, allows users to quickly download and save significant amounts of content. Using cloud storage, the tool simultaneously verifies the integrity of the content and enriches the metadata so that the content is organized and ready to run workflows effectively.
This new feature is particularly useful for those teams that travel in order to carry out long production shoots. Processing queue enhancements leverage Netflix Photon's validation tools to enable key MFI workflows in the cloud. Other improvements to production efficiency include support for UHD input and output with a standard transcoder node and for writing ABR DASH and HLS packets while capturing content.
Evolution to SaaS
Dalet's streamlined development plans facilitate the progress of its entire suite of cloud-based solutions by 2022. Dalet Flex will be available as a "multi tenant" SaaS offering, providing scalability and elasticity to customers when needed, while offloading infrastructure investment costs and maintenance time to Dalet. With Dalet Pyramid, newsrooms will be able to virtualize all their operations with increased production and distribution capacity that enables digital news workflows anytime, anywhere.
