Argentina. Pandax relied on the URSA Broadcast model and the ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel device from Blackmagic Design to broadcast on television and the Internet the celebration of the tenth anniversary and the reopening of Tecnópolis, the largest exhibition of technology, art and science in Argentina.
The event featured musical shows on different stages, as well as presentations of culture and technology, gastronomic experiences and thousands of attendees, with a virtual reach of more than 4000 spectators.
Pandax, an audiovisual production company based in Buenos Aires, collaborated for this important event, which was broadcast on television and the Internet from different platforms, such as Cont.ar, the Argentine public service for audiovisual content, the YouTube channel and the Facebook account of Tecnópolis, and the channel Televisión Pública Noticias, the national public broadcaster and its YouTube channel.
Five URSA Broadcast cameras were used during the event, connected to an ATEM 2 M/E Production Studio 4K mixer and an ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel device, from which the transmission was managed.
"When working for an event as important as this, with so many elements, people and scenarios in question, it is essential to be able to trust the selected team, which is also easy to use and allows to deliver content of optimal quality," said Damián Petruccelli, technical supervisor of Pandax. "The URSA Broadcast cameras were on tripods and robotic arms, and it was amazing how quickly we were able to install them thanks to their compact and intuitive design."
"We really wanted to offer viewers the best possible experience and convey a spirit of celebration. The image quality of the URSA Broadcast model is essential to achieve this, given that we did not want granulosity of any kind, especially in the musical shows that took place at night. The units worked perfectly," he added.
By having the cameras in different parts of the stage and field, Petruccelli and his team had the flexibility to capture multiple angles for the audience watching both the webcast and television.
"The cameras, together with the ATEM 2 M/E Production Studio 4K and ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel devices, really offered us the possibility to deliver a highly dynamic show, given that we had absolute control of the multi-camera shots during transmission. These tools are extremely intuitive and effective," Petruccelli said.
The Pandax team also had Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and URSA Mini Pro 4.6K units for last-minute requirements, DeckLink 8K Pro capture and playback cards, 10 Mini Converters Optical Fiber 12G devices, SmartScope Duo 4K monitors and two HyperDeck Studio 12G recorders.
In addition to these devices used in the Tecnópolis event, the Pandax team relies on other Blackmagic Design products, such as ATEM 1 M/E Production Studio 4K mixers, ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K and ATEM Television Studio HD, to broadcast live on the Internet musical shows held at the Kirchner Cultural Center, in Buenos Aires, the largest in all of Latin America. The shows, which usually feature orchestras and tributes to important musicians from Argentina, are broadcast live on the Internet from the center's YouTube channel, as well as from its Facebook account.
Pandax has also incorporated the new URSA Broadcast G2 and Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro models into its work dynamics, in order to raise the quality of its productions and services.
