All this state-of-the-art audiovisual technology has played an important role in sports as Panasonic has been an official sponsor at the Olympic Games since 1988. In Beijing 2008, it offered for the first time in the history of this competition in Full HD, while in London 2012, Panasonic's equipment and advanced technology broadcast the first Olympic Games in 3D.
In 2014 the Full HD AVC-Intra 100 video format of Panasonic allowed to celebrate an Olympics with digital means in the Olympic Winter Games of Sochi, also that same year the brand signed an official World Sponsor Partner agreement with the Paralympic Committee.
In the PyeongChang games in 2018 the transmission system of Panasonic's P2HD cameras was chosen as the official video recording equipment for the 13th consecutive time since let's not forget that the first time was in Barcelona 1992.
Also, for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, a multi-video distribution system and 360º cameras were installed in the main venue.
