Grass Valley presented novelties in SDI / IP solutions

grass valley LDX 150Latin America. Grass Valley introduced three new SDI/IP production solutions for cameras, switches and playback. These top-of-the-line tools not only provide the best images available, but also reduce complexity with a common workflow regardless of format, simple setup for any UHD/3G/HD resolution, and massive I/O scaled for today's world of multi-layered videos.

These new product presentations benefit from the latest in IP and 4K UHD technology, ideal for live productions. "We recognize that our customers face a high demand for premium content like 1080p HDR or 4K UHD, while at the same time trying to handle the complexities of developing that content," said Marco Lopez, general manager of Live Production at Grass Valley.

He added that "Everything we develop at Grass Valley seeks to balance the requirements of enabling the best in live media production while also making creation simpler and more manageable. Grass Valley's SDI, IP and cloud-native portfolio ensures that our customers can continue to produce the exciting live content they are known for. We are very proud to bring these latest improvements to market and look forward to the live productions they will be a part of."

The new solutions
The standard GV K-Frame XP video production center joins the XP Compact to offer customers a real option without compromises. The K-Frame XP gives you full flexibility to operate in any format, from HD to 4K UHD 2160p, and offers the industry's largest I/O footprint with 192 x 96 I/O on IP, SDI or both. Full-frame video processing provides a maximum of nine M/Es, each with six keyers, and 16 optional 3D iDPM for any production. The display files are compatible with all K-Frame engines and, of course, all Kayenne, Karrera and Korona control surfaces can power the new XP, which translates into ease of operation and a semblance of continuity.

LDX 150 is the only camera to offer triple-speed UHD with global shutter and Wide Color Gamut (WCG) acquisition on a NativeIP backbone. The new Xenios imager, along with the global shutter, means the best sensitivity with greater sharpness in fine structures and realistic images, a wide dynamic range in HDR, an improved signal-to-noise ratio and additional depth of field, even in low light conditions. It also offers built-in JPEG XS compression that can be streamed natively over IP without CCU or additional server boxes. It is truly one of a kind.

LiveTouch 2000 is the next generation of Grass Valley's award-winning playback and highlight system. The latest version is an ultra-high density video server that offers up to 12 UHD/24 HD channels in 3 RU, providing the best channel density of any playback system on the market. The intuitive interface makes instant playback workflows quick and easy, in HD or UHD, suitable for sports and studio applications.
