Located at the previous EMI/Abbey Road studios in Stockholm, the company has developed a live content streaming service around Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K, URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 and Micro Studio Camera units, with the help of Scandinavian Photo.
According to Nicolas Notini, one of its founders, the company prides itself on offering live cinematic content and has designed its studios intelligently, with six discreet cameras on robotic rails and telescopic arms. "For us, the goal of automation was to ensure that artists and creators had far fewer distractions and focused more easily on doing the same."
"Given our professional background as musicians, we think that way it looks better and works perfectly. After a few minutes, the artist forgets about the cameras and can concentrate on his work. In addition, we are not afraid of teams appearing in the image when appropriate, as this gives the viewer a sense of face-to-face."
Deliberately, the streams have a cinematic quality, rather than a super digital aesthetic. This has been considered in every aspect of the production chain, according to Notini. "We try to get the best sound, in the best studio and with the best equipment, and everything, including the audio, is mastered as we broadcast."
On the other hand, he noted: "From the light design to the exclusive use of cinematographic lenses, everything has been thought to achieve the same appearance of a film. In addition, the signals coming from the cameras are recorded in 4K resolution by HyperDeck Studio Mini units, with the purpose of using them later. The mixing of images is carried out with an ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K, as well as that of the audio, of course, through special equipment. All of this is much more difficult live, but the result is far superior, and that's all that matters."
