Public TV achieved 70 nominations for India Catalina Awards

tv pública,Colombia. The quality of public TV stood out in the India Catalina Awards with the nomination of 70 of its productions in 31 categories, ratifying the excellence, creativity, quality, originality and contribution it makes to the Colombian audiovisual industry.

"We are extremely proud of the talent of our national and regional public productions, of their contribution in this year of confinement. We congratulate all the teams that were nominated today and celebrate with them," said ICT Minister Karen Abudinen.

He added: "This year we announced a $311 billion investment for our Public TV, as well as the opening of six calls for $24 billion to support 91 projects. Thus we are reaffirming our commitment to continue supporting the audiovisual sector and national and regional public television, its digital transformation, its international expansion and economic reactivation".

Among the productions nominated to receive the statuette are "Profe en tu casa" by Señal Colombia, and "Grandes historias con pequeños cámaras" by Canal Trece, projects that were born during the pandemic and financed by the MINISTRY of ICT.

"Many of the nominated audiovisual projects are from independent producers who have participated in the calls of the ICT Ministry and the ANTV (liquidated), which are or were broadcast on public television," the official clarified.

Of the 160 nominations chosen by the technical evaluation committee of the awards, through a virtual event, Señal Colombia and Telepacífico were the public channels that obtained the most nominations: 16 and 17, respectively.

Abudinen invited Colombians and members of the audiovisual industry to vote actively, until March 25, for their favorite productions, especially those made by Public TV and nominated by the technical committee of the thirty-seventh edition of the India Catalina Awards. Voting is enabled on the website of the contest http://www.premiosindiacatalina.com/index.php
