Colombia strengthens preventive telecommunications surveillance

vigilancia, minticColombia. Modernizing surveillance and control tools, monitoring the implementation of specific measures to prevent non-compliance and identifying problems and activating concrete solutions with operators, are the three keys to the new measures of the public policy of preventive surveillance of telecommunications, which was issued by the Ministry of ICT.

The new policy seeks to ensure better provision of Internet, voice, postal, television and radio sound broadcasting service. "With this modernized policy, the great beneficiaries are the citizens, who in addition to being connected will be able to be well connected. Additionally, we will be able to stimulate the growth of the sector," said Minister Abudinen.

This surveillance policy will be articulated with the weekly measurements that the entity will carry out in the departments, where the minister will evaluate through the 'Traffic Light of Connectivity' the quality of the services that telecommunications operators offer in different areas. The first exercise was held in Chocó and the results - which analyzed the main mobile operators in the country.

"This administrative act contains a series of actions that will allow the ICT Ministry to enhance its surveillance work, hand in hand with the operators. Ultimately, what we seek is to improve the conditions in which the internet, voice, postal, television and sound broadcasting service is provided, so that citizens, in addition to being connected, can be well connected, "added Minister Abudinen.
