Colombia. For the first time, the Regulator of Colombia assumes the Presidency of the Platform of Regulators of the Audiovisual Sector of Ibero-America, PRAI, an organization that emerges as an instance of exchange of experiences and resources, coordination of actions and events, and especially with the aim of generating an academic and research floor where to base regulatory decision-making.
Currently, the PRAI is composed of regulatory bodies and similar institutions from Argentina, Chile, Spain, Peru, Portugal, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil; as well as Costa Rica and Morocco as observer members.
From the Presidency of the PRAI, the CRC will focus on promoting in its agenda and work plan cutting-edge projects for the benefit of the audiovisual sector, developing days directed in conjunction with the IFT and CAC in which the exchange of experiences between the different regulators of the sector and other latitudes is prioritized.
"The Commission is honoured to play this important role. We assume with total commitment this challenge in which, during the next 2 years, together with the Audiovisual Council of Catalonia (CAC) and the Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT) we will strive to strengthen ourselves as an organization, developing different projects that allow us to be at the forefront and face the regulatory challenges in the field of audiovisual content" said Ernesto Orozco, Commissioner of Audiovisual Content of the CRC.
The Commission will officially assume the Presidency of the organization in November 2020, during the Ordinary Assembly of the PRAI.
