Latin America. During the last years, Blackmagic Design has had a remarkable growth in Latin America, becoming a very important market for the company. This was indicated in conversation with TVyVideo+Radio Dan May, president of Blackmagic.
He stressed that during this time contingency due to Covid-19, they continue to provide services to their Latin American clients through recent announcements and product updates that help facilitate remote workflows and create professional and powerful productions and live broadcasts with multiple cameras.
"In addition, remote collaboration is already built into the foundation of some of our hardcore products. For example, with the collaboration features of DaVinci Resolve Studio, editors, colorists, visual effects artists, animators, and sound engineers may work together on a project simultaneously, while in different locations. Of course, this is not an easy situation for anyone, and we hope everyone stays healthy and safe."
Projects in the region
The President of Blackmagic Design mentioned that Chilean production company AGTV incorporated a complete workflow of the company, which includes six URSA Broadcast cameras, to produce the television series "Amor a la Catalán" for Canal 13, the second oldest television station in Chile.
"In addition to the cameras, the team used an ATEM Camera Control Panel to monitor and adjust color balance, shutter speed and more, the ATEM Television Studio Pro HD and ATEM Production Studio 4K live production switches, a HyperDeck Studio Mini recorder for additional recording, the SmartScope Duo 4K monitor and an ATEM Talkback Converter 4K, which allowed the camera operators to stay in communication with the director while distancing themselves from URSA transmissions so that the action would occur without interruptions," he said.
Finally, Dan May recalled that in early April, they announced new products and updates, which help their customers stay active and creative while working remotely.
Among them are the new ATEM Mini Pro, a new free update, Blackmagic Camera Update 6.9, for the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and Pocket Cinema Camera 6K models, HyperDeck v7.1, another new and free software update, which adds multiple new features to hyperDeck Studio Mini streaming recorders, including a new H.264 codec.
