Colombia. The Ministry of Culture, through the National Stimulus Program, opened registrations to offer scholarships and stimuli aimed at the development or culmination of artistic and cultural audiovisual projects. In the first phase, 740 million pesos (about 190 thousand dollars) will be allocated and distributed among the winners.
The cinematography chapter is aimed at film lovers, creators, entrepreneurs, researchers and innovators; in this way, audiovisual production, the preservation and conservation of audiovisual heritage and the circulation of Colombian projects will continue to be promoted.
In this regard, Jaime Tenorio, Director of Cinematography of the Ministry of Culture, said that "in the country audiovisual projects have been consolidated that strengthen the film sector, rescue cultural traditions and become a showcase for the riches of our nation, both in the country and internationally."
The portfolio contemplates delivering 5 stimuli of 15 million pesos each, through the research grant for the management of Colombian audiovisual heritage, indigenous peoples chapters and Afro communities.
On the other hand, the Colombian audiovisual heritage management grant will grant 4 stimuli worth 400 million, which will be distributed among the winners, for the development of inventory projects, technical verification, cataloging, systematization of information, physical restoration, duplication or digitization of Colombian audiovisual works or collections of moving images or newspaper material, bibliographic, photographic or sound related to the work or audiovisual collection.
They will also be able to apply for scholarships for the publication of research on Colombian cinema and audiovisual through new media. This offer will support 2 unpublished research on any era and subject related to the Colombian cinematographic and audiovisual field.
The project must be written in Spanish or in native Colombian languages. For each scholarship, a stimulus of 20 million pesos will be given to each winner.
The aforementioned calls have a deadline to apply on June 1.
Additionally, 4 stimuli of 37,500,000 pesos each will be awarded, through scholarships to deepen the production of fiction and documentary short films of the Imaginando Nuestra Imagen program.
Through this call, the audiovisual realization of projects that are developed from the different regions of the country and that give continuity to the training processes will be supported.
Finally, in this first phase, 2 stimuli of $ 37,500,000 each will be delivered, through the research grant on children's audiences, to promote research on the dynamics of consumption and audiovisual and cinematographic appropriation, and in this way reach the child audience in Colombia.
These 2 calls have a deadline of May 29.
