TV Azteca integrates solution for digital channels

Mexico. TV Azteca has implemented Dalet Galaxy five to revitalize the company's content supply chain and offer robust programming options to its audiences through traditional, digital and social media.

The media group offers a wide range of entertainment programs including series, live musicals, themed programs and sports. In addition to the diverse programming, TV Azteca offers news 18 hours a day through a network of local stations throughout the country.

"The goal of TV Azteca's ambitious transformation was to connect digital TV content traffic with digital platforms and offer our audiences programming options that span the breadth and depth of our news reports and the entirety of our outstanding media catalog. Dalet Galaxy five gave us the technical capabilities to build this innovative media production ecosystem, with the acceleration of the workflow to interact with our audience in real time," explained Pedro Carmona, Technical Director of TV Azteca.

He added that "The execution of the project was exceptional and the resulting impact was immediate. TV Azteca's operation went from being a manual process, where on average it took ten minutes for content to air, to an almost instantaneous and often automated delivery of content and programs in real time. The benchmark for improving performance was undeniable and provided us with the efficiency needed to expand program options for our viewers."

Accelerating workflows by a factor of ten, TV Azteca implemented with Dalet Galaxy five highly mobile and collaborative production tools such as Dalet OneCut and Dalet WebSpace. The robust solution streamlines the field of content production to the facility, enabling more than 50 journalists to prepare stories more efficiently anywhere in the world. Further driving the fast-turning workflow are Dalet's social media connectors that allow users to easily post content on TV Azteca's social channels. The integration makes creating and publishing content for Facebook, Twitter, and other channels fast and seamless.

With several distinct media departments previously operating in siloed production verticals, TV Azteca powered by Dalet Galaxy five is now fully connected, intertwining program, news, sports, archives, and marketing workflows; ensuring that program content and information are shared for maximum production and distribution efficiency.

Iván Neri, CIO of TV Azteca indicated that the inefficiencies eliminated by the modern design of Dalet's workflow: "We used to manually copy files from one department to another and this took a huge amount of time. Dalet Galaxy five automates the entire file migration from transcoding to metadata capture, which is so incredibly important in making content searchable in our files. Before implementing the Dalet solution, we had duplicates and inconsistencies in content tagging that hindered collaboration and prevented us from maximizing the value of our content. Automating processes and streamlining workflow allows us to better utilize the rich programming we've stored in our vaults for audiences around the world."

According to external consultants hired by TV Azteca, dalet's resulting media infrastructure reduced production inefficiencies by up to 30% across all operations.

"TV Azteca's focus on designing its new media operations is light years ahead. Rather than overcoming inefficiencies, they understood that audiences expected to interact with TV Azteca on all platforms and built a highly fluid media ecosystem that allows them to optimize all aspects of production. They now engage their viewers at a deeper level with better and more diverse content options," said Julien Decaix, General Manager of America at Dalet.
