Mexico. From February 5 to 7, the Mexican distributor Videoservicios, representative of companies such as Sony, Canon, Cinematics, Fluotec, Libec, among others, held its first Cinema Week, an event in which some of the brands they represent in the country offered their most recent solutions, already available in the Mexican market.
Paulino Garcia, general manager of the company, said: "The brands we market have a strong presence in the cinema area as well. For example, Sony and Canon have that possibility. Here we have exposed other brands that also offer this type of solutions. That is why we do these seminars, that they see us as a provider of the cinema area and somehow we are penetrating via services. Because we also offer equipment for rent, such as cameras and tripods, like Libec, what is a client that we represent and has equipment that has all the characteristics to support the weight of a cinema camera."
He added: "We want to get into this market so they can have options. We have done it in video, but now we are also doing it for the film market. For this 2020 we have great challenges and changes".
The executive said: "We had good business in 2017 and 2018, because of the digitalization and the change from SD to HD. Practically all our customers are already digitized and we consider that there will be a waiting period, which can be two or three years so that the natural customers we have can renew their equipment."
During the event, Canon Mexicana offered details of the new C700 Mark II camera, as well as professional explanations from José María Noriega, CMO and Sales Director of Fluotec; Alejandro Reyes, Cinema & Broadcast Camera Product Manager at Sony; José Larios, Sales Manager of Libec; Humberto González, Marketing Manager of Sony Mexico; Salvador de la Serna, director de Altavista Cinematic; and Alejandro Alcocer, Sales Manager for Mexico and Latin America at Zeiss.
During his presentation, José María Noriega explained the advantages offered by Fluotec equipment, on the twentieth anniversary of the company, in which they have positioned themselves in international brands: "Fluotec is the only Latin American and Mexican company present in the film, video and television industry, which manufactures products. In the United States and globally we have been winners of different awards in the industry, and therefore our constant desire to innovate on the needs of customers."
