Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, will increase by 5% the distribution of resources to regional governments in the field of telecommunications for fiscal year 2020, compared to the amount delivered this year.
This increase is due to the cost of maintaining telecommunications systems and operating communication equipment. The financial transfer is authorized in Emergency Decree 014-2019, which approves the public budget for fiscal year 2020.
The amount allocated for the following year amounts to S/ 19,787,086, which finances the maintenance activities of systems in the same sector. The objective is to support the fulfilment of the functions that, in the field of telecommunications, have been transferred, within the framework of the decentralization process.
This information was released during the Second Decentralized Conference of Integral Training for Regional Governments in Telecommunications, which took place on November 28 and 29 in the city of Cajamarca, which was inaugurated by Patricia Diaz, General Director of the General Directorate of Inspections and Sanctions in Communications.
"It has been a very productive day. It is a great effort of the MTC that aims to approach the regions and maintain better communication and articulation of the functions performed by both parties, "said the MTC official.
