Chile. 234 projects competed this year in eight competitive lines for the $3,154,198,000 (about US$4.4 million) of the CNTV 2019 Fund. Of the winners, nine programs are from regions and eleven correspond to the Metropolitan Region.
The activity was attended by parliamentarians Marcelo Díaz and Amaro Labra, Councilors of the CNTV, directors of television channels and audiovisual filmmakers, among other authorities.
The president of the National Television Council, Catalina Parot, highlighted the importance of this Fund for the Chilean audiovisual industry and highlighted the Chilean audiovisual heritage that has been developed over time "with programs that talk about our country, our history and our customs."
He added the focus of this Fund on the promotion of regional production where this year "the Council has awarded projects from regions in almost all the competitive lines" (fiction, non-fiction, children, community, regional and new seasons). "Our commitment to decentralization came to fruition. If last year 20% of the CNTV Fund was allocated to regional programs, this year we increased to 34%," he said.
"This year we have also awarded excellent programs for children for both regional and national channels. We are talking about programming especially aimed at this audience with quality, attractive and dynamic content."
Among the awarded categories are: Historical Series, Fiction, Non-Fiction, Regional Programs, Preschool Children, Children over 6 years old, New Seasons and Community Programs.
