The first version of the Colorist Mixer was made in Bogotá

Colombia. As part of the courses brought by the International Colorist Academy to Congo Films School in Colombia, last Saturday, August 10, the 'Colorist Mixer' was held at the Statua Rota bar. This festival, which is normally celebrated at the NAB and the IBC, was held for the first time in South America.

With free admission, more than 150 attendees including colorists, cinematographers and other people from the Industry, enjoyed a great moment with good beer and snacks.

In addition to being a networking event, fun and recreation went hand in hand. During the meeting, an integration activity was carried out among the attendees, who put together groups of 10 completely unknown people and together answered 10 questions about information about the audiovisual industry. Two of the winning groups received kits, which included beer, a notebook and a Fujifilm thermos delivered by Mediatekis.

Finally, the event ended with a big draw where prizes were awarded for up to U$9,500, including two assimilate Scratch licenses, a Prelight license given by Altavista Cinematic, 6 DaVinci Resolve licenses all given by Estudio Roco, Avcom, Videocamcorp together. Likewise, 4 shifts of colorization in Violeta Post, 1 LED light of Dedolight, 1 package of Davinci Resolve courses in FXPHD, half scholarship for any workshop at Congo Films School and 5 tickets for the academic agenda of TecnoTevisión, which will be held on October 23, 24 and 25 in Bogotá Colombia, were raffled.

The remaining courses of the International Colorist Academy were taught over the following week, including color science, Color matrix and HDR, all led by the president of the Colorist Society International, Dolby digital advisor and ACES consultant, Kevin Shaw.

The academic agenda of these courses resulted in a total of 6 workshops taught, 74 tickets sold, 36 people from different countries such as Mexico, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Colombia. But, most importantly, he delivered first-hand the latest knowledge in imaging technology to South America, which will undoubtedly be repeated.
