Brazil. Today's consumers demand breaking news with relevant and compelling content simultaneously on multiple devices. As a result, broadcasters need collaborative, efficient workflows that allow them to interact with viewers faster than ever before.
That's why Grass Valley's complete media production platform, GV Stratus, has been chosen for news writing for three of Latin America's leading broadcasters: TV Bahia, TV Integração and TV Pajuçara.
Having used Grass Valley products and solutions for more than ten years, TV Bahia, a subsidiary of the Brazilian television network Rede Globo, chose to enhance its newsroom environment with GV Stratus and GV I/O with four intake and eight playout channels, four high-resolution EDITING stations EDIUS Workgroup 9 and ten low-resolution EDIUS editing stations.
The new workflow allows the production team and engineering director, Romildo Fausto, to manage content assets across multiple media workflows from ingest to playout, improving performance and agility across departments.
Efficient workflows and flexible infrastructures are crucial for broadcasters to handle the growing amount of content within newsrooms. TV Integração, a subsidiary of Brazilian commercial network TV Globo and a longtime Grass Valley customer, has chosen GV Stratus for two of its facilities in Brazil along with ten EDIUS Workgroup 9 publishing platforms, to create an end-to-end Grass Valley news workflow.
This latest implementation takes TV Integração's productions, overseen by engineering director Tulio Moreira dos Santos, to the next level, allowing the production team to handle multiple formats, including user-generated files. The station plans to replicate this configuration to other locations.
TV Pajuçara, a Brazilian television station based in Maceió, affiliated with RecordTV and new customer of Grass Valley, acquired the GV Stratus solution for two intake channels and four playout channels. The station has also deployed five EDIUS low-resolution workstations and eight EDIUS Workgroup stations.
Led by engineering director Lucio Souto Maior, TV Pajuçara chose Stratus to enhance its news writing capabilities. This project has been carried out in collaboration with Foccus Digital, a leading distributor in Brazil. The new workflow ensures that files are instantly available to all network users and provides greater agility in routine approvals for local and national programs.
"Traditional news broadcasters are now interacting with audiences across a variety of platforms, including social media, to tell them the stories first. As a result, the needs of newsroom are evolving. We are very proud that these three major LATAM broadcasters have turned to GV STRATUS to help them create more flexible, agile and comprehensive local and national news productions," said Nahuel Villegas, Grass Valley's vice president of sales for Latin America.
