Latin America. Communication on radio stations, in a boardroom or at a conference can best be achieved with suitable solutions, such as the MF-19D microphone, developed by FlexAV, and recently unveiled, Brian Green, the company's VP of Operations, told TVyVideo+Radio.
"We introduced our FM-19D microphone, Dante boundary style. What makes him unique is that he is a Dante Director, there are not many of these; we are using a network input to configure the polarity patterns, we use it to configure the microphone buttons, PTT or PTM (Push To Talk-Mute), momentary anchors, whatever is needed regardless of its application. We also have LED lights on the microphones that allow optimal integration according to needs. All accessible from an app control that comes with the microphone," he said.
On the use of this equipment, the executive mentioned: "The use of this system is for conference rooms, it can be used in courtrooms, as a talk-back in a studio. A lot of people say they're using it favorably and that cinematographers who are on a location, the director is on set, want to talk to each other and this is the way they can do it on a location."
He highlighted the advantages of this equipment, already available on the market: "The device can be adjusted to voice over IP protocols and established very quickly. Operators can access the system remotely and change or adjust setups. For this reason, the contribution of the variable polarity pattern is very important, because if it is used in a discussion with panelists it may be necessary to change that pattern, since the panelists are on top, the narrowest signal can be made to use a hypercardioid microphone that works better than a cardioid. It allows you to have a more intelligible audio than putting a microphone and leaving it to its fate."
He assured that this microphone is compatible with the latest audio protocols. "All this occupying the Dante protocol and the other features using the network port. It also works with AES67 which is an audio protocol (non-proprietary) that has all the functionalities and benefits," he said.
On the company's presence in Latin America, he mentioned: "We were in Mexico City, at InfoComm, where we had an excellent reception, we have been looking for distributors and trying to build this type of relationships in Mexico and in the rest of Latin America. We are close to closing some contracts in Argentina, as well as in Brazil," he concluded.
