Argentina. The Board of Directors of the National Communications Agency, Enacom, approved the transformation of 8 Precarious and Provisional Permits (PPP) into definitive licenses for FM radios, in addition to the 23 previously approved by the Agency.
This resolution, signed at the recent meeting of the Board of Directors of Enacom, acquires great relevance because for thirty years the situation of FM stations has not been normalized in the country and is part of the Regularization Plan promoted by the Entity, which also includes the opening of simplified tenders in different regions of the country.
After the 45th meeting of the Board, the head of enacom highlighted: "Little by little we are paying off a debt that democracy had and we continue working so that more and more voices are heard in the country, that promotes plurality and freedom of expression."
On this occasion, the PPPs that were transformed into definitive licenses correspond to stations in Chaco, Corrientes, Santa Fe, Córdoba, Mar del Plata and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
The Board of Directors also approved the winning projects of lines 2 and 3 of the Competitive Development Fund for Audiovisual Communication, Fomeca, a tool aimed at supporting audiovisual projects in community media, communities of indigenous peoples and border areas
In addition, the Board of Directors approved the tender procedure for AM1070 Radio El Mundo, appointing an administrative delegate in order to regularize the station and dispose of the historical frequency.
