ANTV presented results of its 2017 management

Colombia. The JNTV, the management, ANTV officials and special guests gathered to present to the sector and civil society in general the results of the work carried out by the authority in 2017.

This session began with Marina Viña Castro, director in charge, who stressed that "in 2017 approximately 16,000 PQRSD were attended through emails, physical correspondence, website, face-to-face attention, verbal requests and online chat.  It is worth noting that in this new era of information the channels most used by citizens were email and the website, I would like to highlight the management of our Contact Center, which yielded a percentage of satisfaction of 97% by our users".

Then continued the leader of the Internal Control Group, Carolina Mesa, who spoke of how the preparation of this accountability was carried out in 2017 and told about the management and results of the Internal Control Group highlighting that "as a result of the management of the Annual Program of Audits, Monitoring and Advisories 2017, seven internal audits were carried out on different processes of the Entity, which led to the formulation of internal improvement plans led by the responsible advisors and coordinators".

The next turn was for the JNTV, the first to participate was Ernesto Orozco Orozco, representative of the Governorates, who stressed that "with the support of the European Union and our own resources, we reached seven municipalities in Colombia in 2017, today more than 28 municipalities, benefiting families of Sisbén 1 and 2, installing the antenna and the decoder of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) free of charge".

For her part, María Camila Villamizar, representative appointed by the President of the Republic to the JNTV, referred to the importance of the contents and the effort that the ANTV has made to ensure that citizens connect and see themselves reflected in the national contents. "The ANTV opened two calls in 2017 that totaled a little more than $2,670 million aimed at three large audiences: independent producers, non-profit channels and ethnic groups in the country," Villamizar said.

He also referred to the series financed by the ANTV, where the entity "allocated a little more than $ 12,740 million to finance more than 24 fiction series that managed to surprise us for their quality, were innovative proposals that have nourished the screens of public and regional TV."

On behalf of Civil Society, Suzy Sierra Ruiz participated, who stressed that "television has to do with the representation of our multi-ethnic population and recognize their contribution to the heritage of the nation. The ANTV has been working on the promotion of these audiovisual groups".

Regarding the fight against piracy that the entity has, Suzy Sierra stressed that "the ANTV carried out 23 seizures throughout the national territory and during the 2017 term it executed a campaign in the main cities of the country through billboards, movie theaters, radio, and digital media. This anti-piracy strategy was part of the 2017 media plan, with an emission of 1,688 radio spots in 15 cities and more than 2,000 projections of the spot in 22 theaters in the five main cities of the country (Barranquilla, Bogotá, Cali, Medellín and Bucaramanga).  

During this Accountability in force 2017, some concerns sent by users through the means enabled for this were also resolved, and finally, the director in charge, Mariana Viña Castro, thanked the work of all the officials of the ANTV and made a special mention to Ángela María Mora Soto, who was in charge of the entity until September 2018.
