Brazil. Empresa Paulista de Televisión, EPTV, one of TV Globo's main subsidiaries in Brazil, implemented end-to-end news writing solutions in its television studios in Campinas with Grass Valley technology.
EPTV's ability to tell stories from a local perspective is a key differentiator in the market, as consumers demand more news, faster and on more platforms.
A long-time user of Grass Valley's EDIUS non-linear editing software, EPTV chose Grass Valley's GV STRATUS 6.0 video production and content management system to support its wide range of programs. GV STRATUS efficiently handles the entire process of content creation and delivery across multiple digital media platforms, offering the ability to handle the growing volume of user-generated content (UGC) and integrate it with the most popular social media platforms.
EPTV's investment also includes K2 Summit media servers with a total of 12 channels, 13 EDIUS Workgroup 9 software licenses and three EDIUS remote workstations. In addition, the station has implemented GV STRATUS Express, GV STRATUS Flex, GV STRATUS Pro and GV STRATUS Elite writing packages in all its facilities. Avicom, a local Grass Valley reseller, supported the team during this deployment.

Now, EPTV can maximize the value of its assets and easily localize content for the different regions it serves. EPTV news teams can search for files and perform full editing in the field using EDIUS Workgroup to mix and send content, regardless of resolution. In addition, thanks to the new workflow users can incorporate content captured by "citizen reporters", allowing EPTV to share stories as they occur on the ground.
