Enacom approves call for FM licenses

Argentina. At its last meeting, the National Communications Agency, Enacom, approved the continuation of the simplified public tender for the award of FM radio licenses in those places where radio spectrum is available.

In this second stage, the possibility will be opened for the provinces of Tucumán and Mendoza and the application for registration can be made in an agile way and with simplified processes through the electronic platform of Distance Procedures (TAD). It should be recalled that, within the framework of the FM radio standardization plan, which establishes a set of measures for the regularization of hundreds of stations throughout the country, three months ago the first stage of this contest was opened for stations in the provinces of Jujuy, Catamarca, Corrientes and Tierra del Fuego.

On the other hand, the Board of Directors approved 75 winning projects of line 4/2017 of the Competitive Development Fund for Audiovisual Media (FOMECA), of which 44 correspond to the format of weekly radio program and 31 to the daily format. This line is intended for those social organizations that own sound broadcasting services; broadcasters of indigenous peoples with national legal personality; and non-profit social organizations, whose corporate purpose includes the dissemination, propagation and/or production of content. In this way, we continue to advance in the promotion of the production of quality programs and content that contribute to diversity, plurality, construction of citizenship, social inclusion and federalization of the production of radio content communication projects.

Finally, sound broadcasting licenses were awarded by frequency modulation for media in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Catamarca, Jujuy, Santiago del Estero, La Pampa, Salta, Formosa, Chaco, Chubut, Río Negro, Neuquén, San Luis and Santa Fe. Facilities were also set up to start broadcasting broadcasts in Mendoza, Catamarca, La Pampa, Tucumán and Córdoba. Finally, licenses for ICT services were granted to 33 providers in different areas of the country.
