IFT published applicable interconnection tariffs for 2019

Mexico. The Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, determined the interconnection rates that will be in force from January 1 to December 31, 2019 in case of disagreements between concessionaires, as well as those that are applicable to the Preponderant Economic Agent, which will be in force during the same period and the minimum technical conditions for the exchange of traffic between concessionaires that operate public telecommunications networks.

To determine the rates and minimum technical conditions, the Plenary determined to submit to Public Consultation the "Preliminary draft of minimum technical conditions for the interconnection between concessionaires that operate public telecommunications networks and the rates resulting from the cost methodologies that will be in force from January 1 to December 31, 2019", which was held between August 24 and September 20.

For the provision of interconnection services, concessionaires operating public telecommunications networks must be subject to the minimum technical conditions that are published, which aim to promote the efficient exchange of traffic under equitable conditions.

Likewise, the interconnection rates that are published today in the Official Gazette of the Federation are the result of the Cost Methodology, published by the IFT in December 2014, whose guidelines adhere to the best international practices and give certainty to market participants.
