International. On Friday, june 1, Band Pro will present a free screening at the Paramount Theatre as part of Cine Gear 2018. Filmmakers Gary Adcock and Randy Wedick will screen their latest short films in 4K projection, and give an interactive Q&A discussing the tools and techniques used to create these films.
Randy Wedick, Band Pro Senior Technical Advisor, said: "It's an opportunity to have a deep insight into the imaging potential of the new Sony Venice. View the images captured in 6K and display them in beautiful 4K with calibrated projectors."
Dialogue - Gary Adcock
In a recent project for Asus Computers, they had the opportunity to film at Dialogue, the incredible fine-dining restaurant in Santa Monica that is quietly redefining fine dining in Los Angeles. Here the small kitchen has just 18 seats and is hidden behind an unpretentious door on the third floor of Promenade Street. Crafted by an All-Star team led by acclaimed chef Dave Beran, Dialogue's evolutionary menu is presented as a conversational progression between the kitchen and the restaurant. Shot when Sony Venice first came out, they focused on showing everything up close, using Venice's full-frame format for macro lenses emphasizing the micro nature of the theme.
Tokyo Dance - Randy Wedick
Tokyo Dance follows modern dancer Katie Malia through a wide variety of locations throughout Tokyo and the surrounding regions, showcasing the camera's ability to capture true colors, beautiful skin tones, and an extremely wide dynamic range. Rendered with Sony Venice in the 6K full-frame sensor size, and recorded on Angenieux's Leica Thalia First lenses and EZ zoom, it's a real look at the camera's capabilities in almost any scenario.
