Argentina. The National Communications Agency, Enacom, participated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and an Equipment Transfer Agreement together with the Korean Delegation headed by the executive director of the Central Radio Management Service (CRMS), Shingyeom Kim, belonging to the Ministry of Science, Ict & Future Planning of Korea.
During the inauguration and commissioning of the new system, Silvana Giudici; Director of Enacom, together with the Korean authorities, participated in a tour of the facilities of the Esteban Echeverría Emissions Monitoring Center. In this sense, it was explained how this new system will allow to solve the interferences as well as facilitate the registration of the tasks of automatic monitoring of the radio spectrum.
"Argentina began a process of transformation and this is a starting point to improve the communications of citizens and get closer to the country we want," Giudici said. He also added that "through this initiative, we seek transformation towards a digitalized and modern country. For this we need to monitor the radio spectrum efficiently, so this new equipment will be very important to fulfill this task."
In February 2017, Enacom signed the "Mutual Agreement to Establish a Korean Spectrum Management System between the National Communications Agency of the Argentine Republic and the Central Radio Management Service of the Republic of Korea."
The program included the donation and installation of a Korean spectrum management system, replacing the equipment installed in the nineties, and a training course for Argentine technicians who in July of this year traveled to Korea to receive the first part of the installation training course. Currently, the second part relating to operations is being dictated in Buenos Aires.
