Argentina. Continuing with the policies of reintegration into the world carried out by the Argentine State, Silvana Giudici, member of the board of directors of Enacom, held meetings with the UN and the OECD to present the results of the management in terms of connectivity and freedom of expression.
In the first instance Giudici was part of the 57th session of working groups on Infrastructure Policy and Communication Services of the OECD, in Paris, where he defined the country's position on infrastructure and telecommunications service and made it clear that "the Argentine Government has focused on optimizing connectivity, infrastructure, inclusion, innovation and investment".
He also highlighted the connectivity, inclusion and innovation policies that the Argentine government is carrying out, thus taking important steps in the process for Argentina to achieve the status of a member state of the OECD.
Finally, the director of Enacom together with an Argentine delegation composed of the Secretary of Human Rights of the Nation, Claudio Avruj, the Undersecretary for the Protection of Human Rights, Brian Schapira, and officials from the Ministries of Justice, Security, Health, and Education, participated in the 28th session of the Working Group of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) in the city of Geneva, where the advances in the field of freedom of expression in our country were presented.
At the meeting before the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Giudici presented a report on the progress made in protecting freedom of expression in Argentina and emphasized: "Since the inauguration of President Mauricio Macri, the country has gained institutional quality, the press has total freedom to work and press conferences and interviews with the president are common. The public media regained plurality." He also highlighted the sanction of the Law on Access to Public Information and the regulation of official advertising through resolution 247/2016.
