Argentina. Enacom approved the award of subsidies for audiovisual production to 106 winners, 47 FOMECA belonging to line 4, destined to the production of radio content and 59 FOMECA line 5, oriented to the production of audiovisual content. "It is very important to be able to guarantee the existence of these media so that there is a greater plurality of voices. Freedom of expression is one of the fundamental values that guide our management," said the head of the organization, Miguel De Godoy.
FOMECA is a program that allows the redistribution of resources from the audiovisual media to promote and strengthen community, border and indigenous peoples' media, enabling the processes of technological updating, improving the management and production of content to promote plurality of voices and access to technological tools so that social communication channels continue to increase.
In the same sense, the FOMECA registration manual was approved via the web that seeks to facilitate access to all entities regardless of where they are, streamline the procedure and make each management transparent. Based on this manual, a new registration procedure is established that centralizes the documentation and elementary information of the recipients of the competitive fund through the distance processing platform. As of November 1, 2017, all entities contemplated in the General Regulations of FOMECA must register only once in this registry, without any cost.
