Sumavision has solutions for diversity of uses

Latin America. In the broadcast and cable industries, new competitors offer innovative solutions with attractive costs. This is the case of Sumavision, a company of Chinese origin and that has undertaken an aggressive campaign of penetration in the Latin American market, said David Dong, Sales Director for Latin America of Sumavision.

"One of the main market advantages of our products is the high diversity. Our platforms can be worked with various functions, for example you can work at the same time enconding and transcoding and IP output at the same time. We also offer low energy consumption. We also have technical service directly from the factory and local representation in Mexico with Novotech," he said.

And he detailed: "Sumavision is a brand that has a history of 17 years, and we mainly offer three solutions: our digital header for video. It is an integral platform that in the same solution you can work with decoding, encoding and transcoding, as well as modulation, which supports different types of reception and modulation. We also have the different FTTH solutions, in addition to proxy production. We have a wide offer for broadcasters and for the cable sector, so they can switch to offering not only TV, but also two-way Internet with a DOCSIS solution."

Dong said the company has made significant progress among customers in the region, as they have several successful cases to date. "We have several success stories, such as the solutions we have provided to Televisa, which is a large operator that our equipment is using for reception and modulation. In the remainder of 2017 we will have more solutions that we are already in deals with the big cable operators, such as Izzi and Megacable, for example, we have contacts and advances for the migration to DOCSIS 3.1 and new VOD platforms. "

And he stressed that the main trend in the cable industry is to migrate to the DOCSIS 3.1 protocol: "We are already in the process of installation in some operators, in the process of homologation, with operators such as Telefónica and other companies in China and Europe."
