CNTV Fund 2017 received 265 projects

Chile. With a total of 265 projects, it closed the application to the Fund-CNTV 2017, after concluding the online application to the contest. 74 projects correspond to the Fund of Audiovisual Projects of Community Interest, 59 to non-fiction, 39 with regional origin and 9 co-international productions, among other lines.

For this 2017 version, the CNTV Fund has $4,227,534,000 to allocate between 8 competitive lines and the Fund for Audiovisual Projects of Community Interest, to which at least $275,000,000 of this year's total amount must be allocated.

"The numerous applications to the CNTV Fund show us once again the audiovisual development that exists in our country and the number of creators there are with television projects," said Oscar Reyes, president of the CNTV.

The Fund for the Promotion of Television Quality, for 25 years, has financed projects of programs for television of high artistic content and accessible to all Chileans, continues to be the most significant support that is delivered in the country for the creation and production of quality television programs. Through this contest, iconic programs of Chilean television have been awarded such as "El Reemplazante", "Los Archivos del Cardenal", "31 Minutos", the historical miniseries "NO", "Los 80", "Violeta se fue a los cielos", among others.

In 2016, for the first time, a line was included within the CNTV Fund to promote projects of origin and Community Interest. This 2017, instead of being a competitive line, the Fund for Audiovisual Projects of Community Interest was created, which must allocate at least $ 275,000,000 of the total amount of this year.

Applicants – who were 74 this year – can submit projects for a maximum amount of $30,000,000 (thirty million pesos). The projects, for the most part, focus on topics such as the care of natural resources, entrepreneurship, cases of improvement and development of communities, respect for different ethnicities, artistic expressions inspired by local traditions, contribution of immigrants, sport and history of the communities.

The next stages are the technical-financial evaluation of the postulated projects and then the content which are carried out by a panel of experts appointed by the Council, after a public tender of the evaluators.

The final results will be announced in September 2017.
