For his part, Ernesto Orozco stressed that the ANTV is the main interlocutor between the different actors of the audiovisual industry market and listed the main challenges facing the entity such as the need to promote television services by reducing asymmetries to boost the sector, the implementation of technological neutrality to guarantee equal access of users to audiovisual content and the reduction of compensation for the cable operators and viewers.
In addition, the Representative of the Governorates in the JNTV pointed out that the existing Colombian legislation, relating to the protection of copyright, has a purely criminal approach and must be adapted to disruptive models in the digital context to encourage the migration of users to the consumption of content that respects the use and exploitation of intellectual property belonging to third parties.
The most recent edition of the Anti-Piracy and Content Summit, held in Bogotá, is part of the tour of conversations related to this topic in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Guatemala.
