Verizon Digital Media Services and Pontis Technologies announced a long-term collaboration agreement that will make the free streaming (OTT) and content distribution network (CDN) services of Verizon's leading comprehensive digital media platforms available to channels and content publishers throughout Latin America.
Verizon's Uplynk Video Streaming and Edgecast Content Delivery Network services will now be integrated into Pontis' cloud television platform to enable audiences in the region to enjoy live, linear and on-demand (VOD) broadcasts in high TV-like quality. on both mobile and connected devices.
"With Pontis' newly enhanced CloudTV platform, channels, networks and content creators in Latin America will now have a simplified option to create and distribute online videos," said Ralf Jacob, president of Verizon. "And not only that: they will also have access to the best network (which we continue to expand internationally on five continents) to distribute digital media at scale and reliably."
The strategic alliance will enable channels and content publishers to receive a prominent level of product and service offerings.

Verizon continues to make significant long-term investments in Latin America. In 2016, it launched six new points of presence (in Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, Chile, Peru and Argentina) in the Edgecast Content Delivery Network.
