Mexico. The "Report of Comparable Information of Plans and Rates of Fixed Services (Double and Triple Play) 2016", published by the Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, provides useful data that allow comparing the offer of residential plans of Internet, fixed telephony and pay television.
The study contains the analysis of 193 available plans, of which 117 correspond to the triple play modality consisting of Internet, fixed telephony and pay television; 30 to the combination of Internet and fixed telephony; 41 are packages that include Internet and pay TV, and in 5 cases it is the packaging of fixed telephony and pay TV services.
The report contains information on the double play and triple play plans that were offered through the electronic pages of the concessionaires (through their trade names and / or trademarks), which until November 9, 2016 were available to users, and which in turn had their corresponding registration certificates issued by the Public Registry of Telecommunications (RPT).
Below are some of the most important findings from the "2016 "2016 Fixed Service Plans and Rates Comparable Information Report":
Internet and Pay TV
The analysis of the offer of this type of double play packages shows that 73% includes a download speed equal to or greater than 10 Mbps and 71% provides more than 50 pay TV channels.
Fixed telephony and pay TV
In this double play modality it was identified that 40% of the plans include unlimited local calls, calls / minutes to mobile and International Long Distance calls. Likewise, 4 out of 10 plans analyzed integrate more than 50 pay TV channels.
Internet and fixed telephony
It was identified that 70% of the plans include a download speed greater than or equal to 10 Mbps; 73% offer unlimited local calls; 37% includes unlimited mobile calls/minutes and 70% includes unlimited International Long Distance calls/minutes.
Internet, fixed telephony and pay TV
It was identified that 70% of the plans that offer these services in the triple play mode include a download speed equal to or greater than 10 Mbps; while 97% integrate unlimited local calls and 83% offer more than 50 pay TV channels.
In addition to the "Report of Comparable Information of Plans and Rates of Fixed Services (Double and Triple Play) 2016", the IFT makes available to users the "Comparator of Telecommunications Services", an online tool that is updated periodically, which allows to contrast in a simple and detailed way characteristics of the plans of mobile and fixed services available in the country.
