Mexico. The Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, resolved to approve the "Technical Provision IFT-013-2016: Specifications and Minimum Requirements for the Installation and Operation of Television Stations, Auxiliary Equipment and Complementary Equipment".
The issuance of this Technical Provision is due to the need to establish the minimum specifications and technical requirements with which television stations must be installed and operated, because the current regulatory framework does not consider the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) standard adopted in Mexico, which implies defining new specifications and technical parameters.
For the elaboration of this provision, the Institute carried out a public consultation from October 28 to November 17, 2016.
