Brazil. Within the framework of the latest version of SET Expo, the ten years of the adoption of the ISDB-T digital television standard by a large number of countries in the region were commemorated.
The event was attended by the Minister of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications of Brazil, Gilberto Kassab, the Minister of Communications of Japan, Jiro Akama, and other authorities representing the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
During his presentation at the event, the president of the Argentine regulator Enacom, Miguel de Godoy, thanked the governments of Brazil and Japan, "strategic allies in the adoption of this standard." He also stressed that "this meeting means an opportunity to strengthen ties and continue working together in this new stage of Argentina's opening to the world."
On the other hand, De Godoy said that "technology and connectivity are today the ones that equal people." In this sense, he said: "Culture, education and health will come through technology. If we do not seize this moment, we would be condemning many generations to backwardness. In Argentina we come from many years of delay in technological matters, and we are working against the clock to reverse that scenario."
