Mexico. The main Mexican television stations, such as Televisa and TV Azteca, are already concretizing their productions in 4K, with a future perspective. In this, Rohde & Schwarz's technological solutions will have a capital position, said Alfredo Osorio, Business Development Manager of Rohde & Schwarz Mexico.
During his participation in Expo Cine, TV and Video 2016, the executive of the German company commented: "The market has received us very well. Unlike last year, 4K is starting to see more color for certain applications. It is a fact that Mexican companies like Televisa or TV Azteca have begun to do more interesting things in 4K."
The executive said that the issue of 4K is not only limited to the transmission of content, but also to production: "It has nothing to do only with transmission, but with the production of the content and that delivering it to a third party such as Blim or Netflix can already be done properly. 4K is starting to accommodate in certain market niches, not necessarily for streaming, because that still takes time."
Osorio said that for this, the German company has adequate solutions in various areas: "Our division is called Broadcast & Media, and in this exhibition we are focusing on Media products -the old DVS- video servers and storage systems. The plus we are offering is a live system, based on the Venice 4K. We have as a storage system the SpicerBox Cell, that with this we can make a workflow in 4K -both in intake in Venice and storage the SpicerCell-.We have the complete workflow, "he said.
